Registered Kinesiologist
Stretch Therapist
Daniel is a Kinesiologist registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. His educational background consists of a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, as well as a Master's degree in Kinesiology & Health Sciences, specializing in Biomechanics & Neuroscience. His academic career quickly ignited his passions for applied human anatomy & physiology, and how these principles have real-world applications towards functional movement and health optimization for all populations. His Masters research concentrated on the biomechanics of dynamic balance control and its integration with vision & visual cues, and this research provided insight on the changes in balance and motor control behaviours associated with young vs. older adults. Taking this work one step further, he subsequently completed a Graduate Neuroscience Diploma focusing on the neurophysiology of visual-vestibular interactions in individuals with vestibular deficits.
Currently, as a kinesiologist and stretch therapist in the clinical setting, Daniel utilizes a combination of manual & soft tissue therapies, assisted stretching, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), muscle energy techniques (MET), active and passive flexibility, balance training, and exercise prescription & rehabilitation to positively impact and more importantly, educate his clients on the importance of making physical activity a habit that is part of their daily routine.
Daniel's goal as a practitioner is to help each & every client maintain their capacity to carry out activities of daily living for as long as possible throughout their life. Whether it be for youth to older adults, recreational to professional athletes, or children to parents, this is achieved by integrating his extensive evidence-based research background with the wide range of knowledge and technical skills he's developed in his professional career. Daniel is committed to helping his clients to understand HOW and WHY functional movement, mobility, and exercise is paramount to living their healthiest, best lives.
